The New York building problems we fix every week

Most calls start with one of these. We handle the fix and the paperwork.

HPD violationIntercom not working

Buildings with 8 or more units must keep a working two-way intercom with remote door release (NYC rule 1 RCNY §42-01). We replace it with a working video intercom before the violation grows.

Entry doorsDoors anyone can push open

A mag lock holds the door shut and releases on a fingerprint, fob, PIN code or exit button, with fail-safe release for fire code.

LobbyPackage theft

Cameras on the lobby, mailroom and entrance, with footage you can pull from your phone when a delivery goes missing.

Co-op & condoBoard approval and insurance

We provide the certificate of insurance and a clear scope your board and managing agent can sign off on.

Security system installation questions

Still have a question? Call 929-299-8400.

How much does security system installation cost in NYC?

It depends on the system and the building: how many doors, cameras or apartments, how far the cable runs and what the walls are made of. iGTD gives you a free on-site estimate and a written price before any work starts. Call 929-299-8400 to book it.

What does a low voltage contractor do?

A low voltage contractor installs the systems that run on low voltage wiring: access control, intercoms, security cameras and data cabling. An electrician handles the building's main power. iGTD Technology is a low voltage contractor and a New York State licensed security installer.

What is a mag lock and why do businesses use it?

A mag lock, or magnetic door lock, holds a door shut with an electromagnet and releases when an authorized person uses a fingerprint, key fob or PIN code, or presses the exit button. There is no metal key to copy, and a lost fob is canceled from the cloud. iGTD installs mag locks with cloud-managed readers for offices, storefronts and apartment building entrances, wired for fail-safe release under fire code.

Can an old buzzer system be upgraded to a video intercom?

In most buildings, yes. Older buzzer and audio intercoms can be replaced with a video intercom, and some jobs reuse the existing wiring. NYC buildings with 8 or more units must keep a working intercom, so a broken system is worth fixing fast.

How does a solar camera trailer rental work?

We deliver the trailer to your site, raise the mast, aim the cameras and connect live view to your phone. Solar panels, a battery bank and a backup generator power it day and night, so it needs no outlet or internet. Rentals start at $2,500 a month with a 12-month minimum, and we pick it up when the job is done.

Do you work outside of Queens?

Yes. iGTD is based in Whitestone, Queens and installs across all five boroughs: Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island. Solar camera trailers rent anywhere in New York State.
